World’s End is a sought-after coastal neighborhood in East Hingham featuring single-family estates, many of which reflect the waterfront setting for which the neighborhood is named. Select homes offer water views and many of the properties are set back from the road on large lots fringed with towering pines and wild rhododendrons for additional privacy. The adjacent World’s End park and conservation area span 251 acres, jutting out into the Hingham Harbor. Created by glaciers, the site was an island at high tide until colonial farmers dammed the salt marsh to create dry land to grow hay for their livestock. Today, the park features four drumlins surrounded by tree groves and offers 4.5 miles of walking paths with views of the Boston skyline as well as the natural beauty of the protected lands.
World's End is roughly bounded by Surry and Elmore Roads to the north, George Washington Boulevard to the east, Chief Justice Cushing Highway to the south and Hingham Harbor to the west. Residents prize the close proximity to the park as well as Downtown Hingham, combining the best of both worlds.
