Wellfleet Center Historic District
The Wellfleet Center Historic District preserves the town center as it existed in the late 18th and early 19th centuries as a small fishing and maritime community. The historic district includes 119 acres and 173 residential, commercial and institutional buildings. While it is hard to imagine today, Wellfleet in this era was not a summer destination and residents were primarily dependent on the sea for their livelihoods.

The Historic District is roughly bounded by Duck Creek, Cross Street, Holbrook Avenue, Main Street and School Street.
