Wellfleet Antique Homes

The first settlers arrived in Wellfleet in in the 1650s and originally named the community Billingsgate after the East London Fish Market.  Wellfleet was part of Eastham until 1763 when it was formerly incorporated as a town.

We are fortunate that several homes dating back to the early history of Wellfleet have survived and still stand today.  Many of these homes reflect the authentic cape style architecture so common throughout Cape Cod.  A concentration of antique homes are located in the Wellfleet Center Historic District.
