More About Truro Real Estate

Truro Community Summary

Similar to neighboring towns, Truro also claims its place in Pilgrim history.  The Pilgrims stopped at both Provincetown and Truro before moving on to Plymouth.  Legend has it that it was in Truro that the Pilgrims found a spring from which they had their first drink of water in the new land, later discovering a secret store of Indian corn.  The corn saved the Pilgrims from starvation that first year and is now commemorated as Corn Hill Beach.

Truro is also home to the acclaimed Cape Cod Light, Cape Cod’s oldest and tallest lighthouse.   The iconic station was first erected in 1797 and is open for tourist visits in the summer and fall.

Truro Location

Truro is located one town west from the tip of Cape Cod and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and east, Wellfleet on the South, Provincetown to the northwest, and Cape Cod Bay to the west.   Truro is located 50 miles from the Sagamore Bridge and 105 miles southeast of Boston.
