Standish Shore

Standish Shore is an upscale community located along a quiet peninsula in South Duxbury. The area draws its name from prominent historic figure, Captain Myles Standish, who lived there in the 1600s. A monument in his honor occupies the middle of a state park and helps guide boats in navigating the waters off Duxbury and Plymouth Bay.

Today, Standish Shore is a coastal community home to sprawling and spacious single-family residences arrayed around the two main roads that run along Duxbury’s pristine shoreline. Marshall Avenue dead ends near the shoreline while Standish Road loops around, connecting Crescent Street to Hall’s Corner, the main downtown area of Duxbury.

With many homes built between 1970 and 1999, Standish Shore is well-established. Select homes have been updated or torn down to make way for larger, more open floor plans. The area is known for its beach access, excellent schools and family-friendly amenities that include conservation areas, a marina, tennis courts, and community pool. Shopping, dining, and public transportation options are also nearby.
