Second Cliff is one of Scituate’s coastal neighborhoods marked by four distinct bluffs, taking their name from the early English settlers. Second Cliff is home to many of the grand, turn-of-the century shingled homes that once lined the Scituate coastline. Today many of the properties have been reconstructed to take into account modern amenities while maximizing views of the ocean and sunsets over Scituate Harbor. Smaller cottages and more modest properties still exist, also offering views of the harbor, marshes, and oceans. Residents prize the easy stroll to Peggotty Beach as well as the ability to commute into Boston from the Greenbush Commuter rail located two miles away. Second Cliff is located north of the Third Cliff community along the Harbor and to the northeast of the Greenbush District.
