Powder Point

Powder Point is an exclusive neighborhood comprising single-family homes located on a peninsula in Duxbury. The historic area boasts residents whose family lineage dates back 11 generations to the arrival of the Mayflower and prominent figures such as Myles Standish and the Pilgrims.

Two main roads encircle the community with King Caesar Road on the south side and the Gurnet Bridge and Powder Point Avenue running along the north side. The Gurnet or Powder Point Bridge is a wooden structure connecting the end of Powder Point to the Duxbury Beach. Homes located on the waterfront offer commanding views of the water while other properties are nestled within wooded areas. Water views range from homes overlooking Duxbury Bay to vistas of the Bluefish River Inlet.

Select homes offer deeded beach rights. Many of the homes are large but set back from the road to maximize views and seclusion for the owners. The location is ideal for nature lovers as many homes back up to water or conservation lands. Properties were built at the turn of the century all the way up until the present, representing a variety of styles from Colonials, Hamptons style, and Nantucket-inspired beach compounds.
