Mashpee Wakeby Pond
Mashpee and Wakeby Ponds are adjoining ponds located on the Mashpee Sandwich border. Together they cover 729 acres and are the largest freshwater pond on Cape Cod. The shoreline of Mashpee Wakeby is 5.9 miles and is developed with single-family homes, town recreational areas and a summer camp. A public beach managed by the town of Mashpee is located off MA St 130, near the intersection with Great Neck Road. The town of Sandwich maintains a public beach at the on the Ryder Conservation land located off S Sandwich Road, south of Cotuit Road. The pond is a popular fishing destination and has been stocked annually with trout for over 60 years.
