Indian Ponds - Marstons Mills
The Indian Ponds are three freshwater kettle ponds located in the Barnstable village of Marstons Mills. Each of the three ponds are over 100-acres in size and their shorelines are moderately developed with single-family residential homes. Hamblin Pond, Middle Pond and Mystic Lake are the three ponds that make up Indian Ponds.
An active association formed in 1958 has been instrumental in protecting the natural beauty of these three ponds and surrounding lands and watershed. Important initiatives undertaken by the association include the first one-acre residential zoning on Cape Cod, establishing a 1200 acre conservation area and establishing a town by-law regulating the maximum size of boat motors at 10 HP on freshwater lakes in Barnstable.
Indian Lakes are found in Marston Mills to the south of Race Lane, east of Old Mill Road, north of River Road and west of Cotuit Road (MA Rt 149).
