Harwich Community Summary

The villages of Harwich are: North Harwich, South Harwich, East Harwich, West Harwich, Harwich Center, Harwich Port, and Pleasant Lake.  Historic Harwich Center and Harwich Port provide classic Cape Cod charm with arts and crafts shows in the summer, open air band concerts, and a mix of eclectic shops and dining options.  For those into the arts, the Harwich Junior Theatre is widely known for its live performances by notable actors as well as summer residents.  The Harwich Cranberry Festival, taking place in late summer, is a nod to the area’s historical roots as a hub of cranberry farming.

The Harwich housing stock includes a mix of tasteful single-family ranch properties, condos and townhomes as well as waterfront estates with commanding views of scenic Wychmere Harbor.  Tailor-made for nature enthusiasts, Harwich offers a number of conversation lands set aside for hiking and biking, including Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands, Coy’s Brook Woodlands and the Old Colony Rail Trail off the bike path that runs from Dennis to Wellfleet.

Harwich Location

Located on the southern side of Cape Cod, Harwich is bordered by Dennis to the west, Brewster to the north, Orleans to the northeast, Chatham to the east, and Nantucket Sound to the south.  Harwich is 28 miles east of the Sagamore Bridge and 80 miles southeast of Boston.
