Eastham National Seashore
The Atlantic Coastline in Eastham was forever preserved in 1961 with the creation of the Cape Cod National Seashore. This initiative protected the eastern shore of Eastham and other Outer Cape towns from future development, allowing many generations of visitors to experience the untouched, natural beauty of Eastham.
Nauset Light Beach and Coast Guard Beach, arguably two of Cape Cod’s most famous beaches, are located within the National Seashore in Eastham. These ocean beaches have very limited residential development in the coastal dunes located adjacent to the beach. Homes within the National Seashore with close proximity to the beaches are extremely desirable as many homes have been owned by the same families for years with little interest in selling their heritage.
