More About Dennis Real Estate

Dennis Community Summary

Tranquil, tree-lined streets provide a scenic backdrop to the many historic homes in Dennis, some of which date from whaling days.  Dennis also boasts a number of waterfront properties, including homes that come with their own dock and provide boaters with deepwater access to the Nantucket Sound.  Considered one of the cultural centers of Cape Cod, Dennis is the site of the historic Reverend Josiah Dennis homestead, for whom the town was named as well as the Cape Playhouse, one of the nation’s oldest summer theaters.  The Cape Cod Museum of Art located on Hope Lane in Dennis Village is another cultural attraction nestled within a mix of clam shacks, eateries, and quaint shops.

Dennis also enjoys the distinction of having one of the lowest tax rates in the State of Massachusetts without compromising the quality of life and access to government services.  There are six schools ranging from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 with a recently completed expansion.

Dennis Location

The Mid Cape town of Dennis lies on the eastern banks of the Bass River, which effectively divides the Cape in half – Cape Cod Bay is to the north; Brewster to the northeast, Harwich to the southeast, Nantucket Sound to the south and Yarmouth to the west.  Approximately 24 miles east of the Sagamore Bridge, Dennis is 78 miles southeast of Boston.
