Corey Hill History

Corey Hill is named for Deacon Timothy Carey, a prominent citizen who was the cofounder of the first Baptist Church in Brookline. The Corey family were prominent landowners in the area, running a successful farm and orchard starting in the 1760s. The house Timothy Corey built in 1806 still stands today on Washington Street as a living example of Federal architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
