Brewster Pond Homes

As home to Nickerson Park, Brewster is recognized as the "gold standard" for kettle pond recreation. Kettle ponds are unique to Cape Cod, formed by glaciers melting tens of thousands years ago and leaving depressions or "kettles" that later filled with water powered by underground springs.  Nickerson Park comprises 2,000 acres of wooded trails and paved paths that wind around kettle ponds including Flax, Cliff, Little Cliff, and Higgins.

Flax is a favorite of swimmers for its sandy beach while other ponds are well-stocked with trout for fishing purposes.  Kayaking and boating in small sailboats are also popular pastimes.  The Cape Cod Rail Trail, a paved 22-mile dedicated bike trail starting in Dennis and running through Brewster to Wellfleet, runs alongside dozens of local kettle ponds and cranberry bogs.  Dennis features a number of homes built around proximity to Nickerson Park to optimize access to the ponds as well as offer water views from multiple angles.
