Bourne Real Estate
Bourne is a quiet town located on the Upper Cape, characterized by the Cape Cod Canal which splits the town in two across the northern end. Home to the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges, Bourne experiences less of the summer rush than other areas of the Cape. The community bordered by Sandwich to the east, Falmouth to the south, Plymouth to the north and Marion and Wareham to the west.
Bourne is termed the Cape’s “first town,” as it is typically the first town residents and visitors pass through when entering Cape Cod. The town is credited as the site of the nation’s oldest store, the Aptucxet Trading Post, founded by the Pilgrims in 1627. The location later evolved to form the Cape Cod Canal, architected to save ships the time and danger of sailing around the hazardous eastern shores of the Cape. Read more about Bourne real estate.
