Wellfleet Restaurant Week
If you truly want to get a taste of the Cape, make plans to head to the region soon! Wellfleet Restaurant Week runs from May 27-June 2 this year, and the selections are sure to tempt your taste buds, and guarantee you’ll be returning for more.
The great part about restaurant week is that it typically falls at an ideal time for visiting the Cape. Often times, the large crowds haven’t gathered yet because the summer season hasn’t officially started. This gives visitors, as well as locals, a chance to sample all of the diverse restaurants, as well as explore fantastic local shops, art galleries, area beaches and live entertainment options.
In all, there are more than 20 local restaurants that participate in restaurant week. These include everything from more casual, family-friendly dining locations, to more upscale ones. Some of the restaurants offer a prix fixe menu during this special time, while others offer weekly specials to guests. The week offers people the chance to visit some of their favorite restaurants, while also the opportunity to try a new place, too.
Here are just a few examples:
Pearl Restaurant on Commercial Street is offering a three-course prix fix meal starting at $29. This includes a starter, plus an entrée and a dessert from the restaurant’s special menu. Options change daily, so be sure and check them out.
Van Rensselaer’s also offers a $29 deal, but this restaurant is providing four bistro-sized courses. Guests have the option of choosing from a number of selections, including homemade clam chowder, lobster cake or seared scallops, braised beef short rib or a vegan bowl, and of course, a dessert to round out the meal.
The Wicked Oyster says it plans on offering nightly specials to guests all during restaurant week. Once you place your order, you’ll even have the chance to possibly win a $50 gift card. The restaurant is located right on Main Street.
For a meal with a view, head to The Beachcomber of Wellfleet. This beachfront restaurant has seafood rolls on special during restaurant week. You’ll find half price rolls including the lobster roll, scallop roll and clam roll. The restaurant rolls out its full menu on May 30 to guests.
This is the sixth year for Wellfleet Restaurant Week. The annual tradition not only offers a taste of the region, but also the opportunity to learn more about this fantastic area. Can’t wait to see you there!
