The West End is Provincetown’s Chic Neighborhood

There’s plenty to do, see, and experience in Provincetown, but the West End is an especially great place to be. This chic neighborhood may be quieter than other parts of P-Town, but the location still draws in the occasional tourist.

That’s because the neighborhood sits closer to the National Seashore Beaches than some other parts of Provincetown. You’ll oftentimes see people biking through the West End to reach Herring Cove Beach.

Located on the bay side of the Cape, the water tends to be a bit warmer on this side, plus the waves are sometimes calmer too, making it a great place to visit. It’s also great spot to catch a sunset, plus you can always hop on the nearby Province Lands Bike Trail, which loops for more than five miles.

The trail’s the perfect spot for a bike ride. When you want to take a break from biking, you can always stop for a dip in the water at one of the local beaches.

The West End Racing Club also sits in the West End of Provincetown. This long-running summer sailing program for kids has been around since the 1950s. This is the place where generations of local kids have gone to learn to sail. 

In addition, the West End is also where people sometimes park when visiting the Provincetown Causeway. The mile-long causeway leads across the bay, serving up some superior views of the harbor, plus sometimes you’ll spot seals, oysters, and clams, along the way. 

As for living in the West End, homes in this part of Provincetown do vary, from those with historic significance to some newer construction homes overlooking the waterfront.
