The Best Places to Enjoy the Sunset on Cape Cod

You’ve probably heard that Cape Cod is a great place to catch a sunset, but if you’re truly in search of a picture-worthy spot, you may want to head to one of these top locations.

Breakwater Beach - Brewster

Breakwater Beach in Brewster is one of the best places to enjoy a sunset on the Cape because its more than just another pretty spot when the sun begins to go down. During low tide in the summer, you can watch the sun set over the water while walking about a mile out on the Brewster Flats. After 4pm, you don’t even need a beach parking permit.

Race Point Beach – Provincetown

Race Point Beach in Provincetown sits right at the tip of the Cape. The long stretch of sand is a great place to watch the sun go down at the end of the day. If you do go during sunset, you may even see some seals out in the water. The parking lot is big enough here that you’ll likely still get a spot even if you arrive closer to sunset.

First Encounter Beach - Eastham

If you want to avoid the big crowds, you can always try First Encounter Beach in Eastham. If you time your visit just right, the beach is another good spot to catch a sunset during low tide.

Barnstable Harbor – Barnstable

Barnstable Harbor in Barnstable is a pretty spot to catch a sunset, too. Have your camera ready, because you may also be able to get some boats in your photos and Sandy Neck in the distance.

The Knob – Woods Hole

The Knob isn’t very big or even very well known, but for some, that’s part of its charm. This small section of land juts out into the water in Woods Hole. You can catch a pretty good sunset here, especially during the summer months.
