wellfleet luxury home

With dozens of beaches, hundreds of charming shops and some beautiful homes, it’s hard to point out just one great location on the Cape. However, some of the most exclusive areas of Cape Cod are appreciated for their extreme luxury and privacy.

Chatham is said to offer one of the Cape’s most scenic golf courses. Eastward Ho! Country Club dates back to the 1920s and is known today for its ultra-exclusive membership. It’s not easy to become a member and the dress code at the golf club is strictly enforced.

For luxury dining and hospitality, Chatham Bars Inn actually features four restaurants and two private dining rooms. It also includes a private beach with cabanas, daily boat shuttles, swimming and more.

Whether you’re lured to Cape Cod by the promise of heading to the beach or hitting the water, the Gateway to the Cape begins when you reach the towns of Bourne and Sandwich. Both places are full of history and full of charm.

Bourne is the very first town you come to when passing over the Sagamore Bridge, Bourne Bridge or the railroad bridge, but it actually used to be a part of Sandwich. That’s the second town you come to when traveling Route 6.

As the oldest town on the Cape, Sandwich first became a town in the 1600s. Known to this day for its once popular glass-making industry, the town’s claim to fame all these years later is still the Sandwich Glass Factory.

treehouse beer

A beloved, Massachusetts-based brewery is headed to the Cape. Tree House Brewing Company plans to open its third location in Sandwich next summer.

Known for brewing some of the state’s highest rated beers, Tree House is known for its stouts and American-style IPAs. Tree House was originally founded in 2011, before expanding to a brand-new Charlton facility a few years ago.

What began as simply a one-employee, 55-barrel operation in a garage less than a decade ago has now grown into the production of tens of thousands of barrels each year. Last year the Brewers Association named Tree House one of the nation’s fastest growing breweries.

This year the brewery even announced it would be making and selling coffee. The new location in Sandwich

The oldest town on Cape Cod has quite a history, and some do some of its treasurers. Considered one of the most unique local attractions, Sandwich Boardwalk offers up scenic views, while leading visitors out across Mill Creek and the marsh, and onto the beach.

National Geographic considers it one of the “Top 10 Boardwalks in America” and its recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. It’s main purpose is to give beachgoers a way to cut through the marsh and safely reach Cape Cod Bay.

Originally constructed in the late 1800s for around $500, the Sandwich Boardwalk was designed at the time as a safer way to access the beach. The footbridge stretches more than 1,300 feet from beginning to end.

The perfect spot to take a stroll on Cape Cod, the iconic Sandwich Boardwalk is extremely popular, especially during the summer months. In fact, it’s on National Geographic’s list of the top 10 boardwalks in the nation.

It just so happens it’s the only boardwalk on the list without food or rides. Instead, visitors simply enjoy the scenic surroundings, including birdwatching and the sounds of the tide.

Constructed of hundreds of wooden planks, the more than 1,300-foot long boardwalk stretches over beach grass and salt marsh before connecting up to the beach. Although many view the boardwalk as simply a scenic location, it has a more practical purpose.

It actually helps with beach erosion. Instead of trampling the dunes and
