While Cape Cod is no doubt a popular destination during the summer months, one particular spot is getting top marks for those interested in a romantic upcoming get-a-way. If this sounds appealing, considering taking a road trip to Provincetown this Valentine’s Day weekend.
CountryLiving.com just put Provincetown on its list of the “30 Best Valentine’s Day Getaways in America”. Researchers ranked what they consider some of America’s most charming small towns and romantic destinations.
This year, because of COVID restrictions in many parts of the country, they considered the appeal of locations that people can easily drive to. The top 30 includes a mix of locations all across the country, including Provincetown at number 11.
While lively Commercial Street is usually a big draw during the warmer months of the year, the website suggests the winter season may just be the best time of all for couples to visit the seaside town. For one thing, it’s much quieter to visit the region right now than it usually is during the busy summer season.
While the website highlights that the Outer Cape has plenty of B&Bs to choose from, it particularly credits Eben House. The former captain’s home is one of only a handful of late 18th century homes of this style that are still standing in Provincetown.
According to CountryLiving.com, you don’t want to miss out on the property’s seasonal breakfasts. The website also suggests the winter season is a good time to stroll along some of Provincetown’s mostly empty beaches or take a stroll through some of its quaint shops and galleries.
Some of Provincetown’s other B&Bs plan to offer Valentine’s weekend specials this year, including rooms with jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, champagne and roses. Some add in massage treatments at a local spa and daily wine and cheese with your sweetheart.
