Home to some of the most expensive properties on Cape Cod, Oyster Harbors offers pure luxury for those searching for an estate on Nantucket Sound. The home of billionaires and philanthropists, the gated, waterfront community features its own golf course and extreme privacy.

Formerly known as Grand Island, the location became the setting for the summer homes of prominent Boston families around the turn-of-the-century. The 1920s ushered in a new offering, with construction of the stylish Oyster Harbors Club and golf course. It wasn’t long before the summer resort turned into an exclusive country club, with a coveted Donald Ross-designed golf course and neighborhood.

Along with views of the golf course, many of the sprawling estates of Oyster Harbors offer up the advantage of private boat docks and an array of custom features. The large homes are mostly in a Cape Cod style, further complimenting the island setting.

Some of the most enviable properties include a home belonging to billionaire Bill Koch. He upgraded to the more than $19 million dollar, 26-acre waterfront estate in Oyster Harbors after putting a nearby property on the market for a slightly lower asking price a few years ago. At the time, that oceanfront home offered up its own private sandy beach, a swimming pool, nine-bedrooms and 12-baths.

Current listings are all above the $1 million mark, with many of the homes currently listed in the multi-million dollar range. This commonly allows for five- or more bedrooms and a great deal of square footage. As well, the majority of estates in Oyster Harbors sit on at least one-acre of private property, with some of the lots even larger than that.

The waterfront properties also sit within a short distance of the seaside Village of Osterville, putting owners of the estates in a prime location for visiting upscale restaurants and shops.
