From live music and dancing to fireworks, Cape Cod is the place to be this New Year’s Eve. Several area locations are offering special New Year’s packages, or you can choose to attend one of the many family-friendly, town-wide events planned this year.
First Night Chatham
One of the longest running events on Cape Cod is First Night Chatham. The day-long event includes a town photo at the lighthouse, horse-drawn wagon rides and dozens of events and performances for those of all ages. This town-wide celebration is topped off by fireworks over Oyster Pond when the clock strikes midnight.
First Light Provincetown
Enjoy nearly a week of fun with First Light Provincetown. For those not afraid of the weather, the big celebration includes the annual Polar Bear Plunge at Provincetown Harbor. You’ll also find fun including ice skating, a bike ride and fireworks on the beach. The festival additionally includes holiday markets, dance parties and more.
First Night Sandwich
Rated one of the best New Year’s celebrations in the entire state, First Night Sandwich is an early evening of fun for the entire family. This non-alcoholic event showcases live music, performances, activities and more in Sandwich Village.
Along with some of the larger public events on Cape Cod, several area hotels and restaurants are planning their own New Year’s celebrations this year. Expect to find live music, drinks, dancing and even a midnight toast, depending on which location you choose. You can also book a stay at one of the Cape’s most popular locations like Chatham Gables Inn and enjoy even more of what the Cape has to offer this New Year’s Eve.
