Exploring Osterville Village
Blending the natural beauty of Cape Cod with the appeal of a small town setting, Osterville Village presents the enjoyment of seaside elegance. Right on Nantucket Sound, the village is a prime location for fun on the beach or on the water.
Popular during the summer months, it’s common to find out-of-towners with second homes in Osterville. There are also two private country clubs in the village, each with its own golf course, tennis courts and private beach. As one of Barnstable’s seven villages, Osterville Village actually date backs centuries. Just as it was generations ago, oystering remains a common pastime in the village. In fact, many suggest Osterville was actually the misspelled result of the name Oysterville.

You’ll also find some great places to catch a bite to eat. You’ll find a gourmet food market, fresh seafood and locally made products for sale on Main Street. You’ll additionally find Cape Cod-themed gifts, homemade goodies and even a local flower shop and bike shop.
While you’re in the Osterville shopping district, take a little time out to explore one of the Cape’s oldest libraries or the public park with its water lily pond, gardens and nature trails.
