Located in North Falmouth, Megansett Harbor provides an ideal location for exploring the Cape and Buzzards Bay. The view from the jetty extending into Megansett Harbor is hard to beat, plus the harbor is the perfect spot for launching sailboats, kayaks and other small boats, with a paved boat ramp and a long wooden dock.

In fact, Megansett Harbor is an extremely popular location for sailboats, as most boats are able to launch right from Megansett Harbor Landing. Right next to the boat ramp you’ll find the fun of Megansett Beach.

The sandy beach is the perfect spot for taking a swim, lounging along the water or enjoying a picnic lunch. Its calm waters are especially favored by families, who often venture to the beach each summer season.

Along with the wooden pier and boat ramp you’ll also find seasonal lifeguards on duty and restrooms. During low tide you can wade out to a sandbar or catch a spectacular sunset any time of year. The beach is also a great place to find shells that wash ashore, or for some recreational shell fishing. Just make sure you have a permit.

While you’re at the harbor and beach, be sure to make time to kayak to Lawrence Island, just across the harbor. Also connected to the mainland via a trail, the island provides plenty of undeveloped shoreline, and a great place to take in some area birdlife and the natural beauty of the region.

While its extremely popular during the summer months, you’ll find the scenery just as beautiful during some of the colder months of the year. To get to the harbor, take County Road just off Route 28A.

You’ll find limited parking at Megansett Harbor, so it’s best to plan to arrive early. You’ll need a residential parking sticker during the summer season.
