Country Living Selects Cape Cod as a Magical Christmas Town
The holiday season is traditionally full of “magic”, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to Cape Cod. The region was just named as one of “The 30 Most Magical Christmas Towns in the US”.
The ranking comes from Country Living, which scoured the nation to find what it considers some of the best Christmas towns. The website makes mention of Cape Cod’s picturesque lighthouses, especially the ones adorned with lights, wreaths, and other traditional holiday décor this time of year.
Country Living goes on to describe the dozens of parades and craft fairs that occur on Cape Cod. During the holiday season, you can book a POLAR EXPRESS, round-trip train ride to the North Pole too, which departs from Buzzards Bay.
Gardens Aglow at Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich is an annual tradition of holiday light displays, décor, and activities. Main Street in Chatham, meanwhile, offers what it calls a Christmas Stroll in early December.
For a truly unique experience, you can head out to see the famed Lobster Pot tree in Provincetown, which is actually made out of real lobster traps and decorated with lights. The Pilgrim Monument is already aglow, as the lights came on earlier this month to mark the day when the Pilgrims first arrived at Provincetown Harbor.
While Cape Cod is full of holiday spirit, it’s a fantastic place to be any time of year. From biking along the Rail Trail to exploring some of the region’s best beaches, there is plenty to do and see on Cape Cod. The region is also known for its beautiful homes, as well as its quaint shops and restaurants.
Cape Cod was one of just four New England locations chosen for the list, and one of just two in Massachusetts. The other location was Stockbridge, which transforms its Main Street each year into a recreation of a famous Norman Rockwell painting.
