Bruno Mars Performs at Chatham Wedding
Cape Cod is known to attract celebrities, and a recent weekend in Chatham was no different. Grammy winner Bruno Mars recently took the stage at a wedding in Chatham. Mars was hired as part of a wedding celebration for Motorola CEO Greg Brown’s son. The wedding took place at the Chatham Bars Inn. Reportedly, guests used the secret password “magic” to gain entry to “room 24” following the ceremony. Both, of course, reference Mars’ song “24 Magic”.
Booking the in-demand singer for a wedding reportedly costs a minimum of $3 million. That’s likely, however, just a portion of what the entire wedding ending up costing.
The lavish affair was put on by celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum. She’s been tied to other high-end weddings and clients ranging from Billy Joel to LeBron James and the Rockefellers.
At some point in the evening guests dined on food carts from some of New York City’s most renowned restaurants. A rehearsal dinner was reportedly catered by Mario Carbone, a New York chef who happens to boast a celebrity clientele of his own.
While the décor was over the top, the location likely provided the best views of all. The wedding ceremony and custom-designed tents used for the festivities presented some outstanding views overlooking the beach and the Atlantic.
Chatham Bars Inn is a well-known resort and spa on Cape Cod. Originally developed in the early 1900s as a hunting lodge for wealthy vacationers, the inn continues to boast a strong reputation as one of the most picturesque spots on the Cape. A recent renovation brought in updates to all rooms in the Main Inn, its public spaces and its restaurants. Crews also redesigned the cottages.
The Brown family has some ties to Cape Cod. Greg Brown reportedly owns a $9 million summer estate in Chatham that’s found on the waterfront.
