A delightful location to ring in the holiday season on Cape Cod, you’ll want to consider making a holiday visit to Highfield Hall. Currently the Falmouth destination is filled with the holiday spirit, with music, food, and décor dedicated to paying tribute to the magical season ahead.
Holidays at Highfield is an annual event open to families of all ages. It provides the opportunity to shop for unique gifts for family and loved ones, plus sample holiday-themed treats and view interesting collections. There are also opportunities including everything from cookie decorating to visits with Santa and even a specially planned pajama story time.
While the holiday season is no doubt a special time to view the Cape Cod attraction, Highfield Hall and Gardens is truly special no matter the season or time of the year. The restored mansion dates back to the late 1800s, complete with more than a dozen fireplaces, 10 stained glass windows and a newly created ballroom.
The Queen Anne Stick-style design is one of just a few examples of its kind still standing in the region, as Highfield Hall was constructed as one of Cape Cod’s very first summer mansions. While another mansion sitting on the same property was eventually torn down, Highfield Hall survived, thanks to the efforts of some local residents, a non-profit and millions in private donations.
Still surrounded by hundreds of acres of gardens and woodlands, Highfield is a popular location for a number of public and private events. You’ll consistently find the works of local and even international artists on display; with a lively music festival in the summer, plus concerts, nature walks, cooking classes and more on the schedule.
Mostly open from mid April through late October to the public, the grounds can be explored all year-round, something that more than 100,000 visitors have now experienced first-hand at Highfield Hall.
