Beechwood is a historic neighborhood located in the southwest area of Cohasset along the Norwell and Scituate town borders. The quiet neighborhood features a mix of Colonial, Cape and New England farmhouse architectural styles. In the mid-19th century, Beechwood was a thriving farming community with a general store, post office, school and fire station and Congregational Church which is the only remaining historic building. Beechwood has a rural feel and borders the Aaron River Reservoir and the 3,500-acre Wompatuck State Park, which offers an extensive network of hiking trails and a campground.
Beechwood is located south of MA Rt 3A centered on the intersection of Beechwood and Church Streets just to the south of the Wheelwright Farm subdivision. The neighborhood includes Doane Street, Bates Lane, Carbone Lane, Flintlock Ridge Road and Aaron River Road.
